| the Idle Dog was established in 2005 when Deb and Steve decided to offer care for little dogs. We had 2 cavaliers at that time (Gwendolyn and Duncan), and our first client, Lui the Maltese came to stay for 1 or 2 weeks at a time while his owners traveled. In the fall of 2007, employment changes offered the opportunity for Deb to devote full time to the care and training of dogs. She is a certified dog trainer for dogs of all sizes.
We added Daphne to our cavie pile in 2008, and if she continues to be healthy and happy, we hope to breed her in 2010.

| Deb Muise has a professional background in medical research, environmental sciences, and sales for financial services. In September 2007, she completed the certification course for dog training from Animal Behavior College in Northgate, CA. The course required 9 months of on-line academic testing, 8 weeks of hands-on training with a certified dog trainer, and 10 weeks volunteer work at the Sterling Animal Shelter.
She has owned dogs for more than 20 years. She is familiar with Cesar Milan, his books, DVDs, and the Dog Whisperer series, Victoria Stillwell's "Its me or the Dog", and other advances in dog behavior modification theories. She is a member of APDT.
In 2008, Deb earned her certification in Canine First Aid from Tree Top Institute in Canada.
Deb and Steve have been married for 24 years and have 2 grown sons and several dogs.
